meet the johnson's; 2 kids, 2 cars, a 1400 square foot home in mill valley, ca AND virtually no waste. their discipline & practical ways of living are truly inspiring to those who wish to leave a smaller footprint on the planet in the coming year.
just how do they do it?
bea johnson uses reusable jars, fabric bags & totes for ALL of her food items. little or nothing is packaged. with recycling centers overflowing, bea is conscious of even the amount of recyclables her household produces.
as for the wardrobe, bea is one thrifty & organized mama; keeping her kiddos equipped with just the basics & doing it second hand whenever possible. each of the boys has 7 casual tops, 1 dress shirt, 4 bottoms, 3 pairs of shoes + 1 pair of pjs per season.
